2011 History Day
The fourth grade class of Orleans Elementary School enjoyed a history themed field trip sponsored by the Orleans Historical Society and the Arts Foundation of Cape Cod.
The students were brought by bus to the Museum where they were shown Coast Guard rescue demonstrations by the Chatham Coast Guard; and several “colonial” demonstrators engaged them in quilting, ship models, rug hooking, wood crafts, spinning, and painting. Inside Bonnie exhibited museum artifacts and spoke about historical events and people.
Next the kids enjoyed lunch and a tour at the Windmill on the Town Cove.
The last stop was to Historic Rock Harbor and a visit aboard the CG36500!
